These Provisions for California Residents ("Provisions") supplement the information contained in the justicehound.com (the “Privacy Policy”) and do not limit it in any way. These Provisions apply exclusively to residents of California ("CA Users"). We adopt these Provisions in compliance with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 ("CCPA") and other applicable California privacy laws. Any terms defined in the CCPA have the same meaning when used in these Provisions. Personal Information Exclusions

Personal information does not include:

  • Publicly available information from government records.
  • De-identified or aggregated User information.
  • Information excluded from the CCPA's scope, such as:
    1. Health or medical information covered by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (CMIA) or clinical trial data.
    2. Fair Credit Reporting Act (FRCA), the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) or California Financial Information Privacy Act (FIPA), and the Driver's Privacy Protection Act of 1994.

Sources of Personal Information

We obtain the categories of personal information listed above from the following categories of sources:

  • Directly from Users: For example, from online registration forms submitted in relation to the products and/or services offered on the Site.
  • Indirectly from Users: For instance, through information collected in the course of providing products and/or services.
  • Directly and indirectly from activity on the Site: This includes information like browser type, IP address, operating system type, and domain name of your Internet Service Provider, as well as usage details and analytics collected automatically by us and third-party partners like Google® and Clarity®.

Only you or a person registered with the California Secretary of State authorized to act on your behalf may make a verifiable request related to your personal information. You may make a verifiable request for access or data portability twice within a 12-month period. The request must:

  • Provide sufficient information for us to verify your identity or authority.
  • Describe your request in sufficient detail for us to understand and respond properly.

We cannot respond to your request or provide personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority. Making a verifiable request does not require you to create an account with us. We will only use personal information provided in a verifiable request to verify the requestor's identity or authority.

Response Timing and Format

We strive to respond to verifiable requests within forty-five (45) days. If more time is needed (up to ninety (90) days), we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing. Our response will be delivered by mail or electronically, depending on your preference. Any disclosures will cover the twelve (12) months preceding the receipt of your request. If we cannot comply with a request, we will explain why. For data portability requests, we will provide your personal information in a readily usable format.

We do not charge a fee for processing verifiable requests unless they are excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded. If a fee is warranted, we will explain why and provide a cost estimate before completing your request.

Non-Discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights. Unless permitted by the CCPA, we will not:

  • Deny you goods or services.
  • Charge different prices or rates for goods or services, including through discounts or other benefits, or impose penalties.
  • Provide a different level or quality of goods or services.
  • Suggest that you may receive a different price or rate or a different level or quality of goods or services.

Changes to this Privacy Notice

We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Notice at any time. When changes are made, we will notify you by email or through a notice on the Site’s homepage.
